Overview

What weatherproofing covers

Most leaks start at a detail. Water finds the weak point at a joint, upstand or penetration, then damages the structure, services and interiors. The long rains from March to May and the short rains from October to December test every roof and facade.

We cover waterproofing, roofing, facades, decking and flooring under one contract. Our specialist contractor partner brings a long record of building protection in the Gulf's demanding climate. We apply that experience to Kenyan buildings, using Kenyan labour wherever possible.

Warning signs

When to call us in

Problems found early cost less to fix. These signs usually mean a structure needs a survey.

  • Damp patches or stains on ceilings and walls
  • Water pooling on flat roofs after rain
  • Blistered, cracked or peeling membranes and coatings
  • Rusting or loose roof sheets and fixings
  • Cracked or debonded render on facades
  • Mould or musty smells indoors

How a job runs

From survey to handover

  1. Survey and leak diagnosis

We inspect the roof, facade or deck, trace leaks to their source and check the condition of the substrate.

  2. System selection and method statement

We recommend a system to suit the substrate, exposure and use, and set out the method and details for approval.

  3. Surface preparation

Surfaces are cleaned, repaired and dried to the manufacturer's requirements before any product goes on.

  4. Installation with QA/QC

Our crews install the system and its details, with inspection at each hold point and records of every stage.

  5. Testing and handover

We test the finished work, for example by flood or spray testing where suitable, then hand over records and care guidance.

FAQ

Questions clients ask

When is the best time to waterproof in Kenya?

In most regions, the drier months between the long rains (March to May) and the short rains (October to December) are best. Most systems need a dry surface and suitable weather to cure. If work has to run into the rains, we plan around the weather and protect work areas. A site visit lets us advise on timing for your building.

Can you find and fix an existing leak?

Yes. We trace the leak to its source before recommending a repair, because water often travels some distance from where it enters. Some leaks need a local repair, others a new system. We advise once we have inspected the area.

Do you work on occupied buildings?

Often, yes. Roof and facade work can usually be phased so the building stays in use. We plan access, safety zones, noise and working hours with your facility team, and confirm the approach after a site visit.

Which waterproofing system is right for my roof?

It depends on the substrate, how the roof is used, its exposure to sun and standing water, and access for maintenance. Options include PVC and FPO membranes and polyurea or polyurethane coatings. We recommend a system after inspecting the roof.

Can you improve a building's thermal performance?

Often, yes. Roofing and EIFS/ETICS facade systems can add insulation, which helps keep interiors cooler. What can be achieved depends on the existing structure, so we assess it first.
